IFBTA – The International Food and Beverage Technology Association
Robert (“Rob”) Grimes is the Founder & CEO of the IFBTA (the Food and Beverage Technology Association).
The IFBTA was launched at FSTEC (Foodservice Technology Conference and Showcase) 2014 which was founded by Rob in 1996, and is a non-profit professional association promoting and advancing technology and innovation for the global food and beverage industries.
Rob has been a regular technology columnist for several industry and technology publications and has contributed articles to many other publications in the U.S. and abroad as well as co-authored and contributed to a number of books. He has spoken at over 1,000 industry shows, conferences and events around the world. He is a Conti Professor in the Program of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management (“HR&IM”) at Penn State University and also serves on the Industry Advisory Boards of the HR&IM Programs at the University of Delaware and the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
Panel Session - Food and Beverage Tech Trends
This session presented by the UK Chapter of the IFBTA, will provide a review of the current food and beverage technology landscape, and ask the panel of industry technology experts speak to where the technology is headed. Across the board in the global hospitality industry, huge strides are being made to provide tools to improve productivity, connect to guests and their needs, as well as to provide access to data at the decision-point in order to allow operators to run their business more efficiently. Such topics as the growing use of content management, mobility, payment technologies, along with loyalty and recognition will be discussed. The panel will also weigh in on technologies such as online ordering and delivery that are appearing on the horizon that have the possibility of becoming disruptive, being applied and enabling food & beverage operations in the coming year.
